As essentially a single person limited company, I try and put all my expenses through the company debit card, so everything would tally nicely when I got round to dealing with my accounts in FreeAgent, which I’ve been using for a number of years.
I didn’t have a good system for dealing with my expenses previously, receipts used to end up in a box which I’d eventually get round to sorting.
Receipt Bank has helped hugely in terms of keeping track of receipts. I used to spend about 3 days between Christmas and New Year just inputting receipts, which was a total waste of my time.
I’ve now got a little desktop scanner which is linked to my Dropbox. With the amount of receipts I accumulate, I would say it’s saved me 2 to 3 hours per week. It’s like having an assistant!
I love the fact I can just scan stuff into Dropbox, it gets sucked out of there and entered into Receipt Bank and then onto my accounting software, FreeAgent. Their speed and accuracy levels are brilliant, previous software I’d used still meant I had to do lots of typing myself!
