What is Receipt Bank - for accountants?

A good accountant can add a lot of value to a business. He, or she, has years of training and experience that he can use to help the business to:

• Avoid mistakes and plan strategy,
• satisfy HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC),
• reduce the tax bill,
• increase profitability,
• etc...

However, accountants can struggle to add this value when they have to spend so much of their time (and their client's fees) completing tasks that HMRC - not the client - demands. This dilemma was recently summarised succinctly for me by one Partner:

"We spend most of our time doing what we have to do, instead of what we would like to do!"
